It's been a beautiful and productive few weeks for us, as so much is coming alive out on the farm.
We are happy with the state of our field blocks this year, with more than ever having a cover crop growing on them heading in to winter. There are always a few areas that are harvested too late to establish a cover crop in the fall, so we are trying some early spring cover crops this year. This block held our fall brassicas, which remained mostly living through the winter. Here we are trying a very simple transition.
Greenhouse transition continues!
After a loooong week, we are happy to have the spring greenhouse transition well under way. Thanks to @emaleeburg @buswagon @nataaliegilbert we managed to get all of the tomatoes in ahead of schedule, as well as pole beans, cucumbers, arugula, and pac choi. It won't be long now before these beauties begin producing delicious treats!
We are very happy with the results from our first attempt at grafting tomatoes!! The plants recovered quickly in our humid and hot healing chamber, and most have graduated to big 6" pots out in our greenhouse where they will grow for the next few weeks protected on our heated table.
Our online store is open today for ordering until 10pm. We have an abundance of fresh greens coming out of the greenhouse right now, which in just a few weeks will make way for tomato pepper, eggplant, cucumber and pole beans.
