Our online store is open again this week with some fresh spring treats from the greenhouse, and the first greens from the field. Some scenes from around the farm including a row of flowering fruit trees, rhubarb, a field of onions and garlic, peppers and tomatoes setting fruit, and the cutest little hakurei turnip muncher on the farm. These turnips are the juiciest portable snack around! Order today through Thursday for pickup or delivery this week.

Our garlic is looking great this spring, and our leaf mulch is holding up really well so far. This past October instead of purchasing straw bales to cover the soil all winter/spring, we spread some leaves down (donated by our Sweaburg neighbours--Thank you!!), and flail mowed them in place to shred them up a bit and prevent matting that often happens with broad leaves like maple. It worked so well and looks beautiful too. Leaves are a great free source of carbon and should break down over the season to leave behind nutrients to feed the soil, and the following crop.

First outdoor field plantings of the year today, and things are taking shape in the greenhouse.

We have a lettuce bonanza on right now as we begin to clear out our winter beds for tomato production. Get your hands on some crisp and sweet winter lettuce before we run out! Online store is open until Thursday midnight for Fri/Sat pickup/delivery.
